Supporting the Welsh Youth Forum on Sustainable Development

Since its establishment in 2002, Gwerin y Coed has provided help and support to the Welsh Youth Forum on Sustainable Development (WYFSD). The forum was set up by a group of young people, with the aims of youth Empowerment, Education and Action on Sustainable Development. It is open to all young people in Wales aged 0-25, and is entirely led by young people. It runs educational projects, as well as helping young people get their voices heard by those in power.
Initially, Gwerin y Coed donated the time of Support Worker Awel Irene, as well as resources and publicity through its network, to enable the forum to get started as an organisation. Now that the forum is establsihed as an organisation in its own right, Gwerin y Coed and the forum share staff and an office, under the terms of a Service Level Agreement.
Through WYFSD, many of Gwerin's members have had the opportunity to get involved in making Wales and the world a more Sustainable place.
